HOW TO ACCESS SUPPORT FROM GRASP:
G.R.A.S.P. works directly with individuals who are transitioning from incarceration, treatment, detox, or homelessness and need help accessing safe, recovery focused housing or essential reentry resources.
Support from G.R.A.S.P. is intended as a last resort for those who have no other way to cover these costs.
Step 1: Submit a Funding Request Online
Start by visiting our website and clicking on the Funding Request page.
You will be asked to complete an online form that includes:
-
A very detailed statement about your current circumstances.
-
Your need for requesting assistance.
-
Where you are hoping to go for housing, or what essential resource you are requesting support with
Please be as honest and detailed as you can. This helps us understand your situation and whether G.R.A.S.P. is the appropriate resource. Incomplete request will not be considered.
Step 2: Identify and Contact a Recovery Residence or Resource
If you are seeking help with recovery housing:
-
Review our Who We Help page to see a list of vetted recovery homes in our area
-
Choose a home that seems like a good fit and contact them directly to ask about availability and complete their intake or approval process
You will need to know which recovery home you are trying to enter when you complete your funding request.
If you are requesting help with another essential resource, such as an ID, work boots, clothing for a job interview, etc., you will follow the same process on the Reentry Support and Resources form.
Step 3: GRASP Follow Up and Vetting Process
After you submit your funding request, a representative from G.R.A.S.P. will contact you or your loved one to:
-
Review the information you submitted
-
Ask follow up questions about your situation and support system
-
Confirm that all other reasonable options for funding have been explored
G.R.A.S.P. is a last resort funder. This means we carefully review each request to be sure that:
-
The individual has a genuine financial need
-
Other sources of support have been considered or tried
-
The requested assistance will directly support safe, recovery focused stability
Submitting a request does not guarantee approval.
Step 4: Approval and Coordination with the Recovery Home or Vendor
If your request is approved:
-
For housing support, G.R.A.S.P. will contact you and the recovery home directly to confirm your acceptance for up to two weeks of rent.
-
For other approved essential resources, G.R.A.S.P. will work with you and the appropriate provider or vendor to complete the purchase or payment
Funds are paid directly to recovery homes or vendors, not to individuals.
