William B. Carter is an Army Veteran, with a passion for helping people in need. Currently he is working for Community Assisted Supported Living, Inc., as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist Lead (CASL) in the Fort Myers area. William is committed and devoted to helping others. Especially the specific population of people displaced due to homelessness, mental health illnesses, and alcohol and drug addiction.

William has extensive experience in drug and alcohol addiction and recovery, and homelessness, Case Management and Counseling. He has 20 years Case Management and counseling experience working with the homeless and in addiction recovery. Also, he has over 20 years working as a Certified HIV Counselor, Pre/Post testing.

He serves as a Board Member for Genesis Health Services and the G.R.A.S.P Support Foundation.

William is a frequent speaker at multiple addiction and recovery functions in support of his passion for the homeless population and those affected by mental illnesses and alcohol and drug addiction and those moving towards recovery.

William is compassionate about serving and helping others within the community. He leads by example and is always willing to share his personal experience and story with those he help. He admits every day is a learning experience in the field and in the office, he is a coach and mentor to the clients, staff and his peers as well as his colleagues. He is committed to learning more and expounding and growing in knowledge. William hobbies includes chess, watching movies and spending time with his family.
