Client Testimonials for GRASP

My name is Erin Patrick, I am a recovering alcoholic, and I have been staying at Courage to Change since November 2023. I am grateful to be here. Courage to Change has helped me to remain sober by providing clean, safe, affordable living, a great support system, and kind and caring staff. I am so very thankful that Courage to Change accepted me. I have repaired relationships with friends and family, remained sober and focused, and my days just keep getting better and better. G.R.A.S.P helped me get in, and, without their help, I don’t know where I would be right now. Thank you, and God bless.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to praise and thank all those who helped me find the courage to change. I thank John Beeman, Miss Nancy, and Jamie for all their Love, Help, and support. When I first came to them, I was homeless and a hopeless drug addict. Not to mention I was broke. I received funding through Pat Harrison and GRASP. Getting my foot in the door was just the first step in my recovery. And now two years later I am happy to say I have a full-time career, a vehicle and a stable safe place to live. There is no way I could repay the love and help to find that courage to change and the funding I received. But I just wanted to say thank you.

1 year clean today. Man can I tell a difference in my life and my happiness. I’ve been clean before but was miserable during it. It’s different this time. I had to fall on my face last time but it helped open my eyes. I’ve never been so focused. Everybody enjoy their blessings in life because I definitely am I want to give a special thanks for Tommy Dingley for taking me into his Healthy Habits House and letting me blossom when I didn’t deserve it. And to Levi Buchanan for giving me my job back so that was one less thing to stress about. I am truly grateful today.

Thank you for your great kindness in helping Michael ‘Mikey’ Young and Trevor Benson restart their lives with Project 180. On September 13, 2023, GRASP sent check number 1138 in the amount of $350 to pay for the first two weeks of Trevor Benson’s residency with Project 180. I’m happy to report he is doing well. On October 4, 2023, GRASP forwarded check number 1130 in the amount of $350 to assist Michael Young in paying his program fees while he is recovering from open heart surgery. He is also doing well and looking forward to going back to work as soon as he received clearance from his physician later this month. Our partnership has truly been a godsend. Thank you for your ongoing support and care for those we serve.

I truly am so grateful for both G.R.A.S.P. and Grace Recovery. These two organizations really saved my daughter’s life and mine. When I came to Grace Recovery, I had no money, no food and no place to go. I was pregnant and alone with a terrible addiction. G.R.A.S.P. paid for me to come into Grace Recovery. I was given a warm, loving place to live with people who really cared. When I arrived at Grace, I was hungry as I had been living on the streets, and Grace and G.R.A.S.P. paid for me to go to the grocery store and get food and toiletries. I was six months pregnant, homeless, struggling with many addictions, and still I was welcomed with SO MANY open arms. This provided me with extra time and support until I got a job! My baby is 100% HEALTHY and we are living in a home of our own. I’m clean and can be the mother my daughter deserves. I seriously couldn’t even imagine where I would be had I not been given this opportunity. G.R.A.S.P. and Grace Recovery believing in me helped me learn to believe in myself. They unconditionally loved me and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you so much!

A text from a client to Lyle Davis, owner and CEO of Abba’s Haven, a home that is part of G.R.A.S.P.’s network. G.R.A.S.P. also paid Davis’ rent at the Haven. At 1:30 p.m. on June 24, 2021, you pick up a stranger from the bus station. A stranger that had been out of prison for less than 12 hours. That guy had no money, no job, no prospects, and no plan whatsoever. But you still picked him up and gave him 48 hours to figure out life. Since then, he has repaired his driver’s license, successfully completed probation and parole, started a business, moved into a home, and paid his own bills. He now chairs meetings and sponsors newcomers to help them through the 12 steps. He has purchased a new truck, trailer, and website. And, most importantly, he has learned to humble himself to a higher power who he still does not understand. There are not enough words to express my gratitude for your blind faith in helping me. I truly believe that you may have saved my life on that day. And for that, I would take a moment to say thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
